1. Purpose
This Privacy Policy explains how Cresium Capital Partners LLC, doing business as The Gamers Basketball Association ("TGBA," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use https://playtgba.com and related TGBA league services.
TGBA is designed for adults age 18 and older. It is not intended for children or minors.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account and identity information
We may collect:
- email address;
- password hash (TGBA does not store your plaintext password);
- chosen display name;
- account and verification status;
- current legal-document acknowledgments; and
- support or account-recovery communications.
Season One records a dated certification that you are at least 18. TGBA does not collect or store your date of birth. Season One does not require government identification, and TGBA does not collect a driver's license, passport, or other government ID for Season One registration or play. If TGBA ever uses an exceptional identity-document process, it will give a separate notice before collecting any such document.
2.2 Gaming and league information
We may collect:
- platform and gamertag, including prior gamertag history when needed for records;
- free-agent status, positions, general availability, time zone, and recruiting preferences;
- franchise applications, captain or staff roles, invitations, roster membership, and transactions;
- schedules, reschedule requests, attendance and no-show reports;
- scores, box-score data, standings, statistics, awards, and league history;
- eligibility records, suspensions, disputes, and disciplinary outcomes; and
- communications submitted through league forms.
2.3 Evidence and uploaded content
We may collect final-score screenshots, box-score screenshots, franchise logos, and other evidence or content submitted to administer the league. We may record a randomized file name, file type, size, checksum, uploader, upload time, and access history. We do not intentionally publish private evidence file paths.
2.4 Technical and security information
We may automatically collect:
- IP address;
- browser and device user-agent information;
- session and security-cookie data;
- authentication attempts, rate-limit events, and security events;
- request timing and operational logs; and
- administrative audit actions.
TGBA uses essential session and security cookies. At Season One launch TGBA does not use advertising cookies, behavioral advertising, or social-media tracking pixels. If analytics, advertising, or embedded social tools are added, this Policy and any required cookie controls will be updated before those tools are enabled.
3. How we collect information
We collect information:
- directly from you when you register, apply, opt into free agency, accept an invitation, submit a result, contact support, or use another league form;
- from captains, opponents, or staff when they administer rosters, schedules, results, eligibility, or disputes;
- automatically from the website for authentication, security, and operations; and
- from the game evidence participants submit.
TGBA does not receive your console password or NBA 2K Account password.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, verify, secure, and support accounts;
- operate franchise applications, free agency, invitations, rosters, and eligibility;
- generate and administer schedules, windows, reschedules, games, brackets, and standings;
- receive evidence, verify results, calculate statistics, and preserve league history;
- communicate notices, decisions, account messages, and operational updates;
- enforce rules, investigate disputes, protect safety, and prevent fraud or cheating;
- maintain audit trails, diagnose errors, back up data, and restore service;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests; and
- improve TGBA's organization and participant experience.
We will not use private evidence for unrelated advertising. We do not sell personal information. TGBA does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising at Season One launch.
5. Public information
Some information is public because a functioning sports league requires public rosters, standings, and history. Depending on your selections and participation, public information may include:
- display name and gamertag;
- platform;
- free-agent status, playing positions, general availability, time zone, and recruiting status;
- current and historical franchise affiliation;
- game participation, scores, statistics, standings, transactions, awards, and records; and
- a final eligibility, roster, standings, or safety status when that status is necessary for eligibility, rosters, standings, or safety (for example that a player or franchise is ineligible, on probation, or removed).
TGBA does not publish allegations, private reports, investigation evidence, or staff notes.
Your login email, password data, private evidence, private staff notes, IP address, and user-agent data are not public.
Free agents can leave the active free-agent pool. Leaving the pool removes the active recruiting listing but does not erase league actions or competition records that must be retained.
6. How we disclose information
We may disclose information:
- to the public as described in the Public Information section;
- to captains and co-captains when needed for invitations, rosters, schedules, games, and disputes;
- to authorized TGBA staff according to role-based permissions;
- to hosting, email, backup, security, and technical service providers that process information for TGBA (including HostGator for hosting and mail);
- to professional advisers, including attorneys or accountants, when reasonably necessary;
- to law enforcement, courts, or regulators when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; and
- in connection with a legitimate transfer of league operations, subject to appropriate notice and protection.
Private game evidence is limited to authorized staff and captains or co-captains of the franchises involved, as applicable. Internal disciplinary notes are not displayed in general staff queues or public profiles.
Third-party gaming, console, social, chat, and streaming services operate under their own privacy policies. TGBA does not control their practices.
7. Retention
TGBA keeps information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, competition integrity, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. The Season One operating defaults are:
- authentication email body: redacted immediately after successful send, terminal failure, or token expiry;
- ordinary queued email body: redacted after 30 days;
- acknowledgment IP address and user-agent: removed after 90 days;
- audit-log IP addresses: removed after 90 days;
- short-lived login limits, sessions, and authentication tokens: deleted or expired according to their security purpose;
- account login information: retained while the account is active, then disconnected or deidentified when an approved deactivation process permits;
- verified scores, statistics, roster history, transactions, awards, and authoritative league records: retained as permanent league history;
- administrative audit actions and game or dispute evidence: retained for the life of the league unless law, safety, storage limits, or a documented policy requires earlier deletion; and
- backups: protected and rotated under the backup schedule, with deleted information aging out through normal rotation.
TGBA should not collect evidence that it does not need.
8. Account deactivation, correction, and privacy requests
You may request:
- correction of inaccurate private account information;
- a copy of certain information associated with your account;
- removal from the active free-agent pool;
- account deactivation; or
- deletion of information that TGBA is not required or reasonably permitted to retain.
Send requests to support@playtgba.com. TGBA may need to verify your identity before acting. Rights vary by location, and TGBA may retain authoritative competition records, audit actions, evidence, security records, or legal records even after deactivation.
Deactivation ends login access and, when operationally feasible, disconnects the login email from the retained competition identity. It does not rewrite completed games or erase records needed to preserve fair standings and league history.
9. Security
TGBA uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the league's size and the information it handles. These include password hashing, secure sessions, CSRF protection, rate limiting, role-based access controls, private evidence storage, randomized upload names, file validation, audit logs, encrypted transport through HTTPS, restricted configuration files, backups, and restore testing.
No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for using a unique password, protecting your email and gaming accounts, and reporting suspected compromise.
10. Adult-only service
TGBA Season One is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly permit minors to register. If we learn that a minor created an account, we may suspend access, remove the person from competition, and delete or deidentify information as appropriate, while retaining only what is reasonably necessary for security, legal obligations, and competition integrity.
Contact support@playtgba.com if you believe a minor has provided information to TGBA.
11. Do Not Track and third-party cross-site collection
The production website at https://playtgba.com uses only essential session and security cookies that TGBA sets. It does not include advertising pixels, analytics tags, social-media widgets, or other embeds that collect information about your activity on other websites over time.
Some browsers send a Do Not Track (DNT) signal. There is no uniform industry standard for interpreting DNT. TGBA does not currently change its collection practices in response to DNT signals, because the production site does not engage in third-party cross-site advertising or tracking that DNT is intended to address. TGBA does not treat the absence of a DNT signal as consent to add such tracking. If TGBA later enables third-party analytics, advertising, or similar tools, this Policy will be updated first and will describe whether and how DNT or comparable controls apply.
Service providers such as HostGator process information on TGBA's behalf to host the site, send mail, and operate the service. That processing is not third-party cross-site advertising collection.
Static design prototypes that requested fonts from Google are not publicly accessible on the production site.
12. United States operations
TGBA is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
13. Changes to this Policy
TGBA may update this Privacy Policy as its services and practices change. Each version will have an effective date and version number. Material changes may require a new acknowledgment before continued registration or league participation.
